Thank you all so much for your advice about our second dog--they love each other so much
Kito and Abby play all day long, and sleep together either with us or on the floor together at night. They take walks together, and are crated together when we're not home--they don't make a sound!!
Kito does tell on her--she used to be allowed on couches at her old house, and not here--so if she jumps up there when we're not looking, he barks or comes over and nudges us so we see her. They follow each other around ALL the time!! I think it was the best thing we could have done for both of them--a friend all the time!! It only took them a few hours to start getting along, too, and I was sooooo worried.
The only trouble is that Abby is used to eating really fast (she lived with 15 other dogs) and Kito doesn't, so we have to separate them for dinner, so she doesn't eat all of his food. And also, he's taken to mounting her, which she doesn't like, but they're both fixed, so whatever.

It looks like they've been best buds forever!! I love the ones of them napping together on the bed, and looking out the door! They are beautiful! You hit the jackpot!!
