Hi, thanks for sharing Tigger's story with us. He is a beautiful boy. Keep being patient with him while you teach him new tricks. I had parakeets when I was a girl, my first at age 11. I only used a handbook about parakeets to teach myself to hand-tame my bird, to "talk", whistle with me, and other cool things. It only takes kindness, patience, and positive rewards for them to respond to you. They are very smart, want to please, and crave companionship. Sounds like a dog, right? My first bird would whistle the tune from the Andy Griffith show because she heard it every day on t.v. I have cats now, so I don't know that I could have a bird because of them, but I keep hoping someday I can have another budgie. Give your little buddy a pet on the wing for me!
