The Ellen M. Gifford Shelter for Cats is a WONDERFUL cageless, no-kill facility near the Boston-Newton line. It was founded in 1884 and sponsored by Ellen Gifford. The shelter is a pioneer in creating an environment that does not confine cats to small, movement-restricting cages. I used to volunteer there for a while when I lived in the area.

It is a FABULOUS place and deserves all the support it can get. If I could afford the trip there now, I would go to this event!

That sounds like a great place. I wish that our SPCA was actually on the bus line or that Our Animal Welfare Association had suchj a place. We would volunteer there all the time.
