    Male or Female? Who's sweeter?

I know there's no rule here but anyone have any feelings on this matter. My girl died but when I had 5 boys and 1 girl, there was no comparison. The boys have always been much sweeter while my girl was a little distant and much sassier.

    Any thoughts?

I am probably the least qualified to answer here as Trevor and Andy are my first and only cats ever. They are both very sweet and of course they are males.

Ok, this is a hard one! As, my cats have aged they have become more loving. Especially Jez, who is a 7 yr. old Maine Coon. The young ones have alot to do like eating and playing and napping all the time. Not enough hours in the day for snuggling, except Miss "Q" she seems to find the time when I am on the computer.
Tyler the Ocicat is very devoted cat to one person and will watch over me at night and stay in the same room with me when I am home. Penny wants attention when she is due a litter of kittens but once the kittens have new homes she is a little stand offish. But the greatest lover is Moses a high white camoe Maine Coon. He snuggles close at night or if I take a nap. He gives me kisses by wiggling his mouth or lips on my face and loves to be held and cradled like a baby. In a past life he must have been the love of my life.

At the moment in our house it is Bob who is sweeter. Of course, Joey, who is female is trying to catch up. She came to us at a disadvantage, being semi- feral and a bad start at another home. Ask me again in year and I may have a different answer.

However, RB Flicka was the sweetest kitty I have ever seen and that includes Bob and Joey.

I think that it really depends on the kitty, but I will defer to Jen on the final answer.
    Bob & Joey,
and their happy and willing slave, Bryan.

Many Thanks to Kay for the Picture.

I think that the boys are overall sweeter, but when Jan feels like turning on her female charms - watch out - no one is sweeter than her. (then she turns off her charms and is miss grumpy kitty again. )

I have been thinking about this recently. So many people who visit exclaim how Eddie is so much more friendly than Edwina. Yet Edwina is the one who is always on my lap or the lap of my husband. Only once have I gotten Eddie to sit on my lap and only for a few minutes! Edwina loves to cuddle...but she is VERY selective with whom she wishes to be affectionate.

So Eddie is a superficial guy who is friendly with ANYONE and Edwina is passionate but exclusive. hhhmmmmmmmm...

I have to agree that this is a hard one. My males Smokey and Abner are very very sweet, but Mystic is always looking for attention and to get some lovings. Tucker (female) is 16 years old and VERY grouchy, but always one to want love. Tigger is very loving at night and only on her terms.

So I would have to say that the males in my house are much more sweeter than the females.

Consider adopting a special needs pet, they deserve a chance too!

I have a 'Smokey' and I love him to death tho I've decided that he is autistic, as he is in his own world. I could say retarded but I say autistic with special needs. I hope that doesn't offend anyone when I say that because I don't want it to but he's like no other cat I've ever experienced and I think I'll start a thread about 'retarded' cats.

anyway, I would love to know why the boys are sweeter than the girls but I don't suppose we'll ever figure that one out.

I have one male and two females and by far my female Jazz is the sweetest. She's unusually sweet according to my husband.

Ripley has never been what you would call sweet but he has his teddy bear moments. Unfortunately he has some anger issues. One vet told me he has Feline Rage and it is mostly directed at me. It has calmed greatly with age but he still has his "fits". It's very scary to have a 20 pound cat stalk and attack you. I have the battle scars to prove it on my legs and arms.

His behavior is one reason it took me over 10 years to get a second cat. Jazz's sweetness is what made me want a third cat.

I grew up with all female cats except for one called Smokey. He was the sweetest and most patient cat I've ever known. My female cat Puff became crankier as she got older.

When I decided to get a cat of my own, I wasn't looking for a specific sex. Storm happened to pick me and he just also happened to be male. He made me fall in love with the male cat. Now I have 4 males and I think they are much sweeter and more lovey than females. They also tend to be more easy going and less demanding too.

I agree that males are sweeter and more easy going. My females can get that -insert "B" word here- attitude.

In my experience I've liked male cats better, even though I have a female. I've found that males don't bug me for attention, but take it willingly. Sara drives me nuts lol. She'll meow and meow and lick my arms and my legs and follow me around...I'm perfectly fine giving loving, but at that point I'm annoyed.

thank you! I'm loving all these options and pictures. Some day I'll figure out how to do the photo thing and you'll get to see Chuck, Biff and Buff , Spats and Oliver Wang, my adorable boys.
