From one Tarheel to another, what a beautiful love story. I can almost feel the bond between you and your human. I am very familiar with your position of assistant cook as I have some such helpers too. I call them assistant cooks because they will arrive in the kitchen as soon as I start the food preparation. They are also a very efficient clean up crew...in case I drop a morsel of food.
Anyway, Kilo, I enjoyed your story and wish for you and yours many years of the wonderful relationship that you both now enjoy.

Kilo, Here's another Tarheel saying it was a pleasure to read about you. It is obvious your human loves you very much. You sound as if you really enjoy life and all its adventures. I can tell you are a lovable dog. I am so glad you found your human and hope you'll be together many years. BTW my little dog "helps" me in the kitchen too LOL. Congrats on being DOTD! Kay in NC

Hi Kilo! Happy Dog of the Day to you, beautiful boy! What a heart melting photo of your precious self (love your holiday neckgear!) What a heartwarming, inspirational rescue tale is yours, sweetheart! I can just imagine the look of surprise on your Mommy's face that day she stumbled upon you out in the woods; this almost hairless, no doubt hungry, homeless puppy; backside wiggling, that blue tongue wagging! (I'm thinking you were thinking, "I found her!!!") As your Mom says, it was more than mere serendipity that led her to you, and you to her, that fateful day! You and she were definitely meant to be, destined to be, born to be together! How blesed she is to have found such a treasure of a doggie in you, her soul mate; the most life, people and critter loving best buddy a human could ever hope for! Friend to all, that's you Kilo! And oh, I too have one of those helpful "kitchen assistants" whose credentials include prep chef, clean up crew, and pre-rinser! What Mom can do without one?

Great thanks to your Mom for rescuing you, and for sharing your amazing love story with us all! Hope you're enjoying a very happy Dog of the Day bash, Kilo; celebrating to the max with your Mom and all of your adoring friends and fans around campus, in the neighborhood; won't they be excited to hear the big news! And tonight, hopefully your Mom will accidentally on purpose "ooops," drop something yummy on the floor! hehe Love, hugs and kisses to you gentle giant Kilo, our very special, most deserving, Sunday honoree!

Hello, my friend. May the Lord richly bless you for what you have done for Kilo. Many people wouldn't have taken in a dog who was in the condition poor Kilo was in. I'm so happy he's all filled out now and has all his hair. He also has someone who loves him very much.
One suggestion I might pass on and I don't mean to pry...it would cause Kilo to live longer if you restricted his travel more than it is now. Most towns don't allow dogs to run freely without a leash. It just keeps them from being hurt by something or being hit by a vehicle. Also, Kilo's habit of bringing in roadkill could be bad for him and also cause him to be in traffic. I'm just thinking of you and your beloved dog, my friend. Honestly, I don't mean to pry. If you feel I've "crossed the line", I beg your forgiveness, for that wasn't my intention.
Take care and may you and Kilo have a long, happy and healthy life with one another.
My love to all in Jesus, my Lord,
