    Col. Sanders

Col. Sanders, I am honored to salute you as POTD! Actually you made me cry with your story of many owners and being mistreated during your 22 years. I am so sorry people were thoughtless and mean to you before you got to your present loving home. You deserved better treatment and NOW you have it. I can tell from your owner that you will never again be sold or mistreated but indeed you are loved as a dear pet and friend.

To the owner, thank you so much for seeing this horse in need and caring enough to buy him (actually rescue him) and put him in better situation with you. I hope you and Col. Sanders have a lot of years left to enjoy each other. Thanks for sharing. Kay in NC

It has been an honour to meet you and read your story, Col. Sanders. I hope your memories of being mistreated will fade away, as you now are leading the life every horse deserves. Love, devotion and even the POTD crown! My deceased horse, Tim, was POTD many years ago. He lived to be about 35, and so I hope you will enjoy many more years with your loving guardian!

Good morning Col. Sanders! A very happy Pet of the Day to you, beautiful boy! Like Kay, I too was all teary after reading your heart wrenching, ultimately happy ending story! I'm so, so very sad to hear of your horrific early life. It never ceases to amaze me, the ability of once abused animals to forgive we humans, to learn to love and trust again!
Thankfully you escaped the unspeakable, and were able to hold on until your guardian angel could rescue you! Your courage, your indomitable spirit and will to survive, is truly inspiring, Col. Sanders! Now finally you've found that true forever home and human, living that happy, carefree, love filled life you always deserved! As your wise, wonderful person has said, our animal companions teach us so much about the meaning of life, love and trust! That is their priceless gift to us, and your person is so blessed to have a best friend for LIFE, in you!

It was truly an honor to meet you today, sweetheart! My heartfelt wish for you and your dear person is for a very happy, carefree day of celebration, and many, many more wonderful years of shared unconditional love and devotion!

A big neck hug and lots of love to you beautiful Col. Sanders, our very special and most deserving, Pet of the Day!

    Hi Colonel,

It makes me cry to know you were so badly treated, ever. You are one
of God's most magnificent creatures gifted with grace & intelligence.
It is a big relief to know that you are now with folks who truely love and
understand your needs. I pray you get to enjoy your present home for
your much deserved retirement. Congratulations on being our honored
    PET OF THE DAY.

ps. I too think your coloring name should be changed to Gorgeous Gray.

Good day, Colonel, sir! I am very sorry that your life got off to a rough start, but I am thrilled that you are now in a home where you are cared about, loved and treated well. I enjoyed meeting you today! Happy Pet of the Day!

Edited to add: I would love to brush you or to give you some delicious, healthy food! (What kind of a diet do you eat?) I hope your person will do that for me today.

    Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for the congratulations! Colonel is my baby and he is truly an amazing horse. He is my best friend. I think sometimes in life God gives you a very special pet, maybe once in a lifetime. A pet that gives you so much more than you deserve. They teach you about love, life, and forgiveness. Colonel is that pet for me.

Col. Sanders you are indeed one gorgeous fellow!

I have tears in my eyes too. I'd love to give all those who were mean to you a swift kick in their behinds on your behalf. I think they will get repaid for their meanness some how someday though. I am so happy that you have a perfect home and loving family to spend your life with now!!! How wonderful for you both. I hope you and your family are enjoying your special day to the fullest.

Congatulations, sweetie, on being our very special Pet of the Day!!!
