I was at a practice this afternoon for the Pet Expo and we were outside working on a couple of relay races and Smudge was the Anchor, but for one of the tries a rotti cross named Moxie was placed behind him. Well the problem is you see Moxie has a very high pray drive and Smudge if he's doing something like a relay just goes full out 'cause all it is is jumps and tunnels things.

Smudge was running and Moxie keyed right on him just following his every move. So I was just reaching down to put the leash back on Smudge when suddenly Moxie comes swooping in on him just going for the throat. I think he tried to fight back but thought better of it because next thing I know he's taking off trying to get away from her and of course she follows with me and her owner close behind but we couldn't get to them fast enough because Smudge tried taking off again only this time he headed straight towards my friends so one of them stepped in between the two of them telling Moxie down and giving me a chance to get Smudge under control.

The poor guy wasn't hurt though thank goodness just really scared but he got over it quickly 'cause I took through the relay a couple of times. Plus we walked by Moxie at her owners request and she was fine with him while he was walking we even ended up walking beside each other in the building when we were working on the opening of the demo.

I just glad that Smudge is okay and that I didn't have Winter there, 'cause if she was there and outside there probably would have been even more problems, she would have tried to get to loose to back up Smudge and that would most likely have made things worse.
