    Quoddy

Oh my god, I thought our orange Pettalker Fister had put his paw into a power socker and emerged with super-fuzzed fur! The resemblance is amazing. But no, it's another lovely orange boy with a very luxurious mane, and a lovely name too. Enjoy your day!

Morning Quoddy!!! We are soooo happy to meet you! We have a "look alike" story to add...our MacTavish is only part Maine Coon, but he's red and "in your face" and has a big purrrrsonality too! He sends a special Noserub to you, Quoddy, and invites you to visit his web page http://www.cathappy.com/mactavish.htm

We just love big red boys!!!! Congrats, Quoddy, on being King for today! You're totally cool!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention - FROSTFROG will probably have comments regarding your being "dog like!" We know you're all cat - just multi purrrrsonalitied!

Many snuggles and purrs...Bari and the Pride

Lol Thea what a cute & funny picture you have got there!! Red Kitties are soo cute!! Don't eat too much human food you silly goose my cat weighs 10 pounds and she eats human food all the time! Maybe one day you and your siblings should put on a show of your excellent tricks! You remind me of my dog, except after inspecting them my dog will jump on them, whether she likes them or not, that is why she is kept on the leash when guests come over. I hope you recieve many special things on your special day!! Congratulations on Cat of the Day!! Britt, Floppsy, Lady, Sally, and Kelsey.

Quoddy, your Lion Mane is gorgeous! Your pretty golden eyes match the flower on that napkin holder behind you in your photo! I love how you do all kinds of intelligent "puppy dog tricks!" I'm also amused at how your tongue is out to the same side as the tongue on the thumbnail photo of today's Pet of the Day Ferrit! Did you two plan that together for today? Have a Trick-Filled, Fun-Filled Day, Sweet Quoddy, and hope you got to see Bari_d's adorable website of the part Maine Coon, MacTavish!! Very Enjoyable Monday, and I'm sure they'll be more posts for you when Americans who had off for Columbus Day return to their work places tomorrow!

OMG! I thought the same thing!!! The (c)attitude seems the same, with no offense to either of the felines.

Quoddy, you sure are one big boy, aren't you? I hope your day is wonderful, and the food bowl never empties for you. You are our very best COTD!

    Catitude Purrsonified

I haven't seen a post from Frostfrog yet, so I will be the bearer of the news: Cats are not doglike - they are just choosier as to when they wish to display those traits they all have that we attribute to dogs, alone!! There.
Sorry, I couldn't resist - It is amazing how kittenish a dog can get, actually, and I do know what you mean about cats getting some traditionally doggy behavior going! I love Q's gorgeous fur coat! He's got to be a real Lionheart!
Kudos on being our Cat of the Day!!!!

    Oh boy.

RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING FROM MY EYES...

NO! NO! THESE AREN'T RAINDROPS, THEY ARE TEARS - HARD, BITTER, TEARS, FOR IT SEEMS THAT NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I GIVE "THE CAT IS NOT LIKE A DOG BUT IS LIKE A CAT" LECTURE, SOMEONE ELSE POPS UP AND RIGHT AWAY STATEs THAT THEIR CAT IS LIKE A DOG!

    I will quit yelling now.

The cat is like a cat. When I walk down the hallway in my house, it is not uncommon to see one, two, three, or even four cats following me. But the dog - she only follows if she thinks I have something for her to eat or that I am going to take her on a walk. To the cats, its just doggone fun to follow - the word "doggone" - as we all know - having nothing to do with dogs when used in this manner.

When my children were small, they sometimes followed me down the hall, too. Would anyone have dared describe this as doglike behaviour on their part? Sometimes, they even wagged their tails and scratched themselves. Still, we did not liken them to dogs.

Now, when you see your cat sniffing a fire hydrant, lifting one leg and letting loose, I will consider conceding that there might possibly be something doglike in that behaviour, but even then I suspect there would be a perfectly good, feline explanation, for a cat always behaves and acts like a cat and never as a dog. This is true even for barking cats.

There. Having given my lecture for the 9007th time, let me conclude by stating that Quoddy is quite a good quod indeed and is most fortunate to be loved - as those who love him are to be loved by him. May you all make great mischief together.
