Do You Have Smoke Detectors (What Kind?)

Do you have and use smoke detectors where you live?

Always have and always will! It would be foolish not to have them!

It's compulsory down here but I'd have them even if it wasn't.

They are built in to the apartment building and we put up our own smoke/carbon monoxide detector.

    Wouldn't live anywhere without one.

Yes, we had the house appraised and had to have working smoke detectors. Now the challenge will be to keep the batteries fresh in them. Although, they do an annoying beep....beep.....beep when the battery is dying. And I try to actually CHANGE the battery instead of just disengaging it.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Smoke and CO2. ALL OVER THE PLACE.

The prior owners put them in when they were getting ready to sell. Didn't check the Code, so the first round were in the wrong places. So they added more. There are ones on the wall AND the ceiling in many places, both inside and outside the bedrooms. So FOUR per bedroom!!! Then there's the kitchen, cellar stairs, cellar itself, and on and on. We have more than double the smoke detectors required.

I figure the price of batteries isn't much compared to . . . . So I keep them ALL in working order.

It's only a nuisance with the "wrong" ones in the kitchen, as I love to cook and beep! beep! beep! happens.

The CO2 are in the right palces.

Yes, it's in the Buiding Code and required by my landlord - they provide the smoke alarms and I have one of my own.
