    My oldest was sick

and now he is better, but my youngest is sick. His temp keeps spiking to just under 105 He went to the doc today and throat culture, H1N1 test, and chest x-ray were all clean so he probably just has some sort of nasty virus Please send positive thoughts that he gets over this quickly!

Keep him cool, if his fever goes back up, a tepid bath might help cool him down a bit. A high fever isn't good in little ones, so you want to be vigilant while he fights this.

They cannot test immediately for H1N1, it's more complicated than that, but in any case, we hope he feels better soon.

They have the quick 1 hour test that just tests for the particular type of influenza that includes the H1N1 virus. It's not terribly accurate and often gives false negatives, but would have given my doc a solid reason to start him on anti-virals. The more accurate test will be back in a week or so.
