First pics of the girls with the new dslr cam

Got my new Canon EOS 450D today, and of course my girls were my very first models! Actually I'm not too happy with the results; the girls weren't in the mood, and I had to take the photos in macro mode since I do not yet have a tele lens for this camera.

But what I can already say is that there is less blooming (compared to my old cam), and even though the photos where taken with ISO 400 (it's a dark day over here), the noise is still bearable. My old S5 is much worse here. Oh, btw, I used flash and it doesn't show up in their eyes; it's still looking natural!

But okay, nuff said, here's Luna:

    ...and Lily:

Can't wait for the next sunny day so I can try some landscape shots!

Well, to my untrained eye, I think your photos are fantastic. Your girls could so be related to my boy cat Diego.

I think for ISO 400 that is fantastic. Of course now you have to get the lens you need

I will never get over how sharp their whiskers are.

Just beautiful! Of course the subjects help making the photos beautiful in addition to the camera.

Kirsten, considering they are taken at 400, they're really good!! Now, I hope you get some time to play with your new toy.

Yes, I was really surprised when I found out these pics were taken with ISO 400 (had the setting on ISO AUTO for starters). ISO 400 (or even 200) looks just awful with my old S5, so this is much better!

Now I hope I'll soon have the chance to get a tele lens so I can do more things with my new camera...

These pictures look great to me. I wish that when I used the flash with my camera that it wouldn't show up in my cats eyes. I only have the Canon S3 though. I look forward to seeing many beautiful pictures from you in the future.

All of your pictures are always beautiful, no matter what camera you use. You could probably even take great ones with an old Brownie box camera. Do you remember those???

Wow, fantastic pictures. They look so real, like in the same room
    with me.

Are Luna & Lily true sisters? They look so much alike.

Those are beautiful photos, Kirsten (as always from you..).

What a fine camera! Can't wait to see what you do once you have the new lens too.

That's what I was thinking, too! Kirsten would even get great results with a $5.00 single-use camera.

Please give Lily and Luna some gentle scritchies under the chin for me - I noticed you have a picture of each of them looking up - scritchy scritchy, ladies! You are so beautiful!

Kirsten, those are terrific pics! I'm not sure what you meant by "blooming," not that into photography, but they look quite crisp to me.

I do believe some models always look great.
