It depends on the content. If it is encouraging them to give up eating meat and wearing animal products then No. If it simply about protecting our planet then yes

I would not pay more than $5 for a small board book or more than $10 for a larger children's book

As long as the font is big enough to read comfortably from a few feet away it doesn't matter much

I prefer books that are no larger in dimensions than a piece of printer paper. He has an easier time with larger books.

He did when he was younger. At this point he doesn't care anymore

At his age he seems to prefer fewer characters that he can keep track of.

it depends on the content. If it is pushing him to go vegetarian and avoid animal products then no. If it is simply about protecting our earth then yes.

absolutely, every day

With him a little older I will pay a bit more for books. Probably no more than $15-20 for a good thick book though

font size is irrelevant NOW, but once he begins reading I will look for slightly larger than usual print

Are you more likely to buy a book which has an educational idea behind it for your child? at this age just about any book can be educational. We don't just read the books we look at the pictures and point to things (animals, objects, colors, etc.).

Does your child listen to audio books? no

Is cost an important factor to you when buying children’s books? If so how much are you willing to pay? yes. It depends on the book, I think most of his books we've paid less than $10 for

Does the font size make a difference to whether you buy it? Do you prefer bigger or smaller fonts for your child’s books? No. I think bigger is better for reading with a 2 year old though.

Is the size of a children’s book an important factor to you? Does your child find bigger/smaller books easier? If so which one is easiest? Small- mid sized books are easiest. Books that are too large are hard to hold and get frustrating.

Does your child like different textures in a book? He cares more about the pictures than the textures

Does your child like lots of different characters in a book, or just a few? Either. It's most fun when the pictures differ greatly from page to page. We really "study" each page and when each page is similar to the last it gets boring. It doesn't matter if there is only one character though, as long as that character is doing something different on each page. (I hope that makes sense.)

Books with bright, colorful illustrations.

Coming from a teacher's perspective, all books are educational, in that they promote pre-reading and reading skills, so in that sense, my answer would be "yes." If you mean books that teach a particular concept, the answer would be "sometimes."

Possibly

No.

Sometimes it is. We usually spend between $5-$10, but may spend more (around $15-$20) if it is a gift or a very significant book.

Not necessarily. It has more to do with how easy it is to read. Overall, I prefer bigger, but not huge.

I don't think it really matters. My girls tend to sit in the floor with their books, anyway.

Yeah, I hope it will be. It's 60% of my exam as well. The problem is we have a lot of written/folder work to do which gets a bit complicated, but I am really looking foward to writing the story itself and doing the images etc
