I get a phone call.
Richard, Richard...
Hello?
Richard, I need you to write me an email.
Write you an email?
Yes, write me an email.....
Hold on, let me open my emailer....Do I send it to you?
NO, I need you to write me an email!
What are you talking about?
I NEED YOU TO WRITE AN EMAIL FOR ME.
Wait, You want me to write and send you an email?
NO, I want you to write a letter for me - then send it to me!
AHA, What do you want on it?
I'll go to the library and do it!.
I can do it for you, let me get out of MS WORD and I'll open up my mail account.
Oh, forget it.
I CAN DO IT NOW, WAIT UNTIL I CLOSE WORD AND GET INTO MY EMAIL ACCOUNT!!!!!
click.
I do backflips for the people around me. So, when they call with a request I try to get as much info from them-it just helps me and I can proceed with no problems!
They get irritated because I ask them to give me an idea of what I am writing/doing/getting involved in.
"I need you to write me an email."
WTF?
MY first thought is they want a 'test' email to be sent to their account.
What would you think?
OR, they can ask...
"Richard, I need your help? Could you write me a salutation letter for a job I am applying to. If you could write it out an email it to me, I would be very appreciative!
God, If only people knew how to communicate, how much better could the world be?
---------
My other peeve is people asking me for 'advice' then they get ticked off when I give it to them.
The next person that does THAT to me I will tell to go get effing lost.
I gave some advice to a someone once, and when they got ticked about what I had said, I asked them why they bothered and they told me that I didn't give them the answer THEY wanted.
Words of Advice.
Think about what you ask for before you ask?!?!?
Then apply this rule.
No matter what happens, I will listen and not act like an effing child when I get the answer. I wanted info/advice/an sympathetic ear? Then I should act like an adult.
Treat the person you asked with respect, you idiot. Just because they did not agree with you give you no right to lash out at them because they told you what you did not want to hear.
It's your problem/request/inquiry.
If you don't want the truth or advice?
Don't ask, unless you are brave enough to get a little poop on your shoes.
And should that happen? Do not use me as a mat to clean those shoes.
Thanks!
