A Calgary man sought in the brutal killing of his ex-wife in California is reported to have been arrested at Pearson International Airport in Toronto.

Ryan Jenkins, seen in photos provided by police and from a reality TV show website, is believed to be on the run in Canada. (Buena Park Police Department/VH1)

Ms Fiore had recently moved to Los Angeles from Las Vegas. She had worked as a model in advertising and for Playboy as a co-ordinator for their Girls of Golf events.

The Vancouver Province says an unnamed police source indicated Ryan Jenkins had been taken into custody.

Peel Region Police Staff Sgt. Keith Brodie told the Province a man was detained after an Air Canada flight landed in Toronto around 11:30 p.m. ET. He did not identify the man.

Jenkins was believed to be on the run in Canada.

A former Calgary real estate developer and reality TV show contestant, Jenkins was charged with murder Thursday in the death of Jasmine Fiore, 28.

The former model's nude body was found last Saturday, stuffed in a suitcase that had been thrown into a metal trash bin in Buena Park, southeast of Los Angeles. Her teeth and fingers had been removed in an apparent attempt to prevent identification.

    Shoot!

    http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/sto...t-toronto.html

The hunt for fugitive Ryan Jenkins has resumed after a man detained at Toronto's Pearson Airport turned out not to be the former Calgary real estate developer and reality TV show contestant wanted in the death of his ex-wife in California.

Peel Region police Staff Sgt. Keith Brodie said early Saturday a man was detained and questioned after an Air Canada flight from Vancouver landed in Toronto around 11:30 p.m. ET Friday. He did not identify the man but said he co-operated with police.

Brodie later confirmed that the man was not Jenkins.

Hopefully this account is correct - from Yahoo

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – A reality show contestant wanted for murder in the gruesome death and mutilation of his ex-wife was found dead Sunday of an apparent suicide after hanging himself in a secluded Canadian motel, police said.

Sgt. Duncan Pound of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police border integrity unit says police responded to a call about a dead person in Hope, east of Vancouver, and then called investigators who were part of the massive manhunt for Jenkins.

Oh jeez...I bet that IS him. I thought he might have done himself in.

Jasmine and her family - and Ryan's family - innocents. Many prayers - this is tragic for them all.

Fugitive Jenkins found dead in B.C. motel
    Warning: Story contains disturbing details
Last Updated: Sunday, August 23, 2009 | 8:51 PM MT
    CBC News

Ryan Jenkins, seen in photos provided by police and from a reality-TV show website, was the subject of an international manhunt before his body was found Sunday.

The Calgary native was accused in the death of his ex-wife, swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore, whose mutilated body was found in a Los Angeles dumpster on Aug. 15.

RCMP responded to a call Sunday afternoon about a dead person in Hope, 150 kilometres east of Vancouver, and then called investigators who were part of the massive manhunt for Jenkins, said Sgt. Duncan Pound of the RCMP's border integrity unit.

Crime scene investigators identified Jenkins through fingerprints.

They don't yet know how long the 32-year-old real estate developer was at the motel before his body was discovered, Pound said. The Coroners Service of B.C. is investigating.

Police wouldn't disclose a cause of death but Farrah Emami of the Orange County District Attorney's Office in California, which is in contact with Canadian police, said Jenkins had apparently hanged himself at the Thunderbird Motel in Hope.

Jenkins disappeared last week, and his boat was found Wednesday at a marina not far from the U.S.-Canada border south of Vancouver.

Police received a number of reported sightings of Jenkins that proved false. One man was taken off an Air Canada flight to Toronto from Vancouver on Friday night and another was questioned aboard a Vancouver transit bus on the weekend.

Fiore's body was found stuffed in a trash bin in a park southeast of Los Angeles. Her teeth and fingers had been removed, making identification difficult.

The former bikini model was identified through serial numbers on her breast implants. She was badly beaten and preliminary reports indicate she had been strangled.

The U.S. Marshals Service was offering a $25,000-US reward for information leading to Jenkins's capture. Earlier Sunday, RCMP confirmed he was in Canada, as suspected.
