Poor Lily just cried - and threw up!

Just wanted to start posting at PetTalk when I heard Lily crying in distress. When I went looking for her, she was about to throw up. She trew up some grass and clear liquid, maybe was trying to get rid of a hairball (she's losing tons of hair these weeks).

Well, she's not used to vomit a lot (sadly, I have to say that's Luna's domain), so it seemed to have scared her. She ran away from the puddle and looked really confused. Poor girl!

Poor Lily - do you have any hairball meds to give her?

Unfortunately, it's impossible to give Lily any meds. She just won't let you!

The hairball meds are just a paste. Some cats will lick it right off your finger. If not you could just dab a little on her paw so she has to lick it off.
I have tried it with Taz and what I did was put it on my finger then just basically stuck my finger in his mouth (not so I hurt him of course), I tried to swipe it on his tongue.

    I hope Lily is okay.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

My RB Puddy was the same way; she hated to throw up! Having just gone through that w/Coco Puff, I can sympathize w/you, Kirsten. Give that paste a try that Cindy recommended. It tastes like caramel and my cats really like and it does help w/hairballs. Some days if they're a little fussy and don't want it, though, I dab a bit on their nose and they lick it off. Pretty crafty, eh? I hope that Lily feels better soon.
    Blessings,
    Mary

Poor Lily. I bet she was scared.

Tinker just did the same thing last week! I have never seen her hack up a hairball before and I think it scared her. She was crying and I went looking for her. I try to keep all of my guys brushed and combed. Buddy has the medium length hair and he seems to have hairballs every so often but never my little baby Tink.

Maybe a belly rub for Miss Lily.

I'm sure she ran away because she wanted to make sure to blame the mess on Luna
When they eat greenstuff here ( as in the chives which I left unguarded on the counter) F+T will always throw up and Tigris will make sure I understand from the sounds that it is all serious- but next thing they'll run to the bowl and have dinner. As long as it's like that with Lily I am sure she'll be ok

I agree with Barbara on this one (as if I don't usually ) Have you checked all your plants are intact?

    Hope Lily feels better now.

I have tried Hairball Cat Food Dry with generally good results, except of course for the times that they lose thier dinners where you just have to step!!!

There's nothing quite as wonderful as stepping into a cold pile of cat urp in the middle of the night! I have one who pukes as a hobby!

  13. If it makes you feel any better...

I just heard "that sound" and arrived just in time to find Eddie barfing on the living room carpet (pale yellow) that I just had professionally cleaned two weeks ago.

    Sigh.....

Cassie and I just went through a round of "barfage". She has lost quite a bit of hair these past few weeks. I hope sweet Lily is okay!
