    Star Party Thursday #325!

Since it's almost the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, the shuttle took off and the Space Station is making some passes over the United States, I think we should have a star party on the patio.

    http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata...ngs/index.html

I am going to put out the telescope and make a pitcher of

    Orange vodka tonics?

    1.5 oz. Orange Flavored Vodka
    3 oz. tonic water
    1 slice orange

A nice fruit plate to hold off the hunger?

    DONE!

OK ... let's turn out the porch light ...

Then Glacier, Mz Pat (Cyber-Sibes), and I would like to borrow the scope
    fur a while.

There's a Team of Huskies makin a run through the Northern Lights ...
we'd like to watch for the *GLINT* of their Silver Harnesses.

Star Light ~ Star Bright ~ Won't you come out tonight?

Oooh, missed this last night - I was watching food shows and my husband was playing with the new scanner...

Orange Vodka Tonics sound great! ...and the stars would be nice; we'll be camping (somewhere no one has ever heard of - Coolspring, PA) for a family reunion this weekend. I'll need the Orange Vodka Tonics for my husband's crazy aunt!

Can we throw something on the grill? Something decadent?

What fun! Kind of hard to think your way back to 1969 though, isn't it? All that excitement in the air. Can I suggest "Bad Moon Rising for the juke box? It was out 40 years ago just now.

"Moon Dance" by Van Morrison..."Nights in White Satin" by the Moody Blues mentions the moon.

And the ULTIMATE: Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd!

I'll have one of those orange vodka jobs, after the day I've been having! Thanks.

Well, I'm thinking Thursdays is set out far enough from the city so that we can see more of the stars! I'll take a turn at the telescope, please! We ended up giving ours to my big brother, as he's further from Boston than we are. Hmm, I bet Lady's Human has the best star field of all of us (Peterson kids).

    Count me in.
Star gazing sounds like a fun way to spend the night.
How about a tall glass of cold lemonade.
