NHL: 2008 - 2009 season is upon us

Finally!! The Wings are now in Traverse City for training camp, with a little golf thrown in on the side.

Can't wait for the season to begin.

Igor Larionov will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame tonight. Here's a great article from ESPN

Now that is out of the way... The Dead Things ain't going nowhere.

    LOL

YES, I love/hate the Wings. They are the perfect pro sports organization. Making it easy to be a fan. LOL It is getting boring watching them win.

    LOL

For some reason, part of my post got left out. I said at the top, "Tips hat to The Professor". Igor was a master playmaker.

I missed the show. But kudos to Ray... One of the best ever. And he had to be tough... Can you imagine the number of times he had to break up Probert/Domi fights? LOL

Was THAT a game or what?? Unfortunately, I didn't actually get to watch it, since Armstrong cable doesn't carry versus. I listened to a little bit of it and kept checking online, since I knew that it was going to be a good game. YAY to Staal for the hat trick, I am so excited to see him get that after his scoreless streak at the beginning of the season.

You'd think that the red wings would be selling more tickets, especially after winning the cup, but I keep reading about how they can never sell out their arena. Any idea why?

Yeah, Stall was en fuego. LOL The hat trick, plus he had the helper on the winning goal.

Kudos to the Penguins for an awesome win. For whatever reason, the Red Wings defence just broke down. The Pens got the cycle going down low and the Wings could not keep up.

As for the Wings not selling tickets.... I remember when EVERY home game at "the Joe" was a sellout. Detroit is a city in decline, in so many ways. Very sad.

AND Staal got all 3 of his goals in the last 12 minutes of the game. Would have been such a fun one to watch. *sigh*

    Dude,

Johnson of the Kings was really physical last night, I had to laugh at the check he threw. He put a player into the Kings bench and they had a good laugh about it.

The NHL network is re-airing the Pens-Red Wings game on saturday at 2:00 since it drew such high ratings. Too bad that's the day of Ty's party - I am still going to miss it!
