    English Bulldog - Behavoir Problem!

I have a male English Bulldog, he's 18 months, he's lately become really aggressive towards me. He has bitten me twice in the past month, doesn't listen to me at all, but yet with my husband he acts like the perfect dog. I'm just not sure what to do anymore. We just got him fixed last month hoping that would calm him down. I'm really starting to lose my patience with him but can't seem to give him up. We are expecting our first child in July and I'm really concerned on how he's going to do with a baby in the house if he keeps acting the way he does. I just don't know how to control his behavior anymore or what to do.

You have yourself a teenager on your hands. You - seeing as he's fine with your husband - need to take him to an obedience class, and do the exercises to establish that you are in charge, not him. He's testing the boundaries and limits, like all teenagers do, so it is time to set some firm boundaries. Be prepared to repeat things over and over and over and over - Bullies are known to be - well, stubborn to say the least! You need to be the "big dog" here! He will eventually settle down, but the time is now for some serious obedience work with you and him!

I honestly think you should contact a behaviorist? Where did you get him from? If you got him from a breeder could they maybe help you out with his issues? Or maybe he suspects something is off about you because you're pregnant?

What were you doing when he bit you?

Contact a positive reinforcement ONLY behaviorist through http://www.iaabc.org/. You definitely need professional advice for a biting dog, especially with a baby on the way. Without any of us actually being there to observe the situation, and without any of us being behaviorists, it's unconscionable to give you any serious advice. The only advice I would feel comfortable giving is what to do to avoid provoking him, not how to resolve the aggression itself.
