Sugar meeting Sir Jury this morning!

It has taken TWO YEARS (which was NOT my original plan) but finally, Sugar is having cataract surgery on her right eye. Dropped her off this morning, will have a phone call about 2 PM. She will finally be able to see from BOTH eyes!

Sugar has the left eye done in Jan 2007, just 4 weeks after she arrived here, at age 9.5. She is now 11.5. We had to put it off as she kept having other issues which required anesthesia, in all she has 4 anesthesias in 14 months, way too much. So we let the eye issue go, she could see from one eye.

So say a few prayers please, paws crossed, and I will up date later today.

Vet just phoned, the surgery went fine. New lens implant is in place. Sugar is awake -- groggy, but definitely awake! I can pick her up at 5 PM.

Next we start the eye drop regiment and the follow up visits - first visit is early tomorrow morning.

Sugar is home, ate all her dinner. She didn't actually miss a meal, just that this dinner is about 2 hours late. She gobbled it up! lol

    Cone on for a week.

From last time, Sugar is pretty good for eye drops!

    Thanks for the well wishes.
