Several of us have used the soft blue ones on our cats. I like it much better than the hard plastic ones. It allowed Taz to be able to go under the bed to get away from the dogs, but still kept him from getting to his stitches. He also wasn't constantly bumping into the walls and things. Since Taz's stitches were on his belly I let the collar lay down flat against the body instead of sticking up around his face and it still worked well.
I will definitely use these from now on, even for the dogs.

Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.
Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Hey Chris, with my kitties, I put the collar on the other way. It worked better that way, for my furry friends. They still could not get to the bad spot to lick etc.

Years ago I used the soft blue on my Kit-Kat and it worked fine. Definitely did not like the regular e-collar for Casey when she had a lump removed from her paw. However, it seemed to annoy me more than it did her.![]()
I use this:

It works for well for Anvik

Thanks for the input guys.I've ordered the blue one.
Thanks for that, it might just work better going that way given where Bob's 'wound' is. We'll see.Hey Chris, with my kitties, I put the collar on the other way. It worked better that way, for my furry friends. They still could not get to the bad spot to lick etc.
Glacier, thanks, I do like the look of the nobite but it is not easily available over here and I need one very fast, like yesterday.![]()
Chris, I don't recall how I found the blue collar but when I took the kitty to the vet, with it on, the vet decided to order some. When Lucy was spayed, I put a blue collar on her and she rather liked it! Although it was time to take it off, when Lucy saw the collar just sitting on the coffee table, she walked over to it and put her little black furry head in the center - ending up putting it back on herself! Go figure! She looked so proud of herself.
I suspect some animals would chew the collar to bits - but my gals didn't mind it at all. The hard plastic ones are also, often, too long or big. They don't need to be so big. I found the noise alone to be a bummer. Not to mention the damage to the walls and one's legs!
I hope the new blue one works for you and Bob. Maybe your vet doesn't know about them.
Hope Bob gets better soon. It is such a stressful time - when a pet is ill.
Hugs to Bob!
How cute is that!Lucy you are such a clever girl!
Thanks for the good thoughts and Bob's hug from you will be given for sure.
ps I'll post some pics of him in the blue collar ... when it arrives, I was hoping it would be here by now.

Chris, where can I get one of those blue ones for cats? (I'll be in UK soon). Seems a lot better than the plastic cones.

Randi, I got it online. I've found it in two places but they both only deliver to in UK, however if you give me the size you want I can get it and send it on to you?
This is the place I bought it from, scroll down (it's a dog site but one of the smaller sizes would be suitable for a cat)

if you check out the feedback link you will find Bob smiling out at you.![]()
My girlfriend's yorkshire terrier had a collar that blew up like a flotation device around her neck when she had a tumor removed. It kinda looked like the comfy collar pictured. It seemed to work well for the little sized dogs.
