Did anyone get any baby chicks this year? This is the first year I haven't and I'm having chicken withdrawls! I need chicken pics!

The farm stores around here are full of baby chickens at the moment. They are so adorable!

Unfortunately, no pictures... and no one I know is raising them this year, either.

My friend did hatch quite a few duck eggs, though....

This was taken when they were just a day old or so... before they got moved to the outside enclosure.

I know they aren't chickens, but they are almost as cute! :-D

My dad, step-mom, and little brother moved to a five acre farm this spring so they bought 26 chicks and a few geese and ducks. I visited the day he picked up the chicks from the hatchery.

And I named this one Franklin. We don't know what breed he is. My brother also named all the black ones Broccoli. (He is 5)

Oh they are just so darn cute. They do make a mess once they get older, but chicken poop is great for the garden. Makes veggies grow like mad.
