Oh wow, I read about this in her email she sent Catty1, but I hadn't seen it yet. Just seeing the two pix of Barney got my eyes all leaky again. I'm so glad this rescue organization is up and running.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

I saw the site yesterday, it's a wonderful thing Lara and the group are doing!

Well, may spare change can go for something great!! TNR works. Having spayed and neuter almost 45 cats in two colonies on my own, I know. They are stable and healthy.

Back around 1996, I was staying with my parents for a summer on LI and there was a stray cat they were feeding. Before long, there was a litter of kittens in the yard. I told my parents there would be 100 cats in a few years if we didn't do something. My father and I trapped all of them and the mother and paid to have them all fixed. We re-released them and the mother and one of the males stayed and our yard was their territory. The others disappeared over time (hopefully, they found other territories). That was my first experience with TNR and it felt great knowing we made a difference.

What a wonderful website and how quickly it all came together. A beautiful and loving testament to Barney.
    Blessings,
