Anyone ever donated a kidney -- or received a kidney donation?
My Mom needs a new one soon. My sister smokes. My brother has diabetes, so I may be the best chance. We're undergoing testing and all that, but I was just wondering if anyone else had gone through this and could give us advice on the procedure or recovery time, etc.

Ask your vet about microchipping. ~ It could have saved Kuhio's life.

I've never had to donate a kidney nor have I needed one (thank God). I hope you're a match. Such an unselfish thing you are doing. I would've given anything to keep my Mom alive. You are a very strong person and I have the utmost respect and admiration for you, Kuhio.
