    Unhappy Oh Budda!

My little soulmate had a stroke and was left with a tilted head walked wobbly and his brain was a little affected, leaving him disoriented . Yet he was still happy and not in pain, the vet said. His wiggly tail, the gleam in his eyes and sheer determination to walk, showed just what a happy boy he was . I took time off work to help him with his rehabilitation. Imagine being blind, unable to walk properly, disoriented and not know why… but I was with him. He made it up and down his ramp and through his doggy door, at first it terrified him, but I was there with him. He retained his dignity and made it his priority to take his business outside, where he had only ever known to take it, bless him. Two weeks after the stroke was his 17th birthday and he even braved the outdoors for a birthday walk . Alas, it was to be his last. Three days later his organs shut down . We spent the next 48 hours just being each other’s best friend, God it was the hardest thing. I felt like i was reaching into my own body and tearing out my heart. My boy had come to the end of the road but I’m so lucky to have travelled with him, right to the end .

My little soulmate has gone to the great Rainbow Bridge in the sky… It hurts Big Time and I miss him ever so much!

    I love you Budda Booby

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I took a look at his DOTD honors - he was quite the handsome boy, and it sounds like you gave him a wonderful life. Seventeen years - pretty darn good, but unfortunately they are never with us long enough. Just know that you did everything possible you could for him - just as he already knows that you did. He'll be waiting for you at RB.

    RIP sweet little Budda!

I came to read this earlier and check out his DOTD page, but was called away. I just got back to look and this is the Budda that reminds me so much of my mom's Min Pin, Kodi, who also lived to be 17 1/2 years old.

Now Kodi and Budda are together at the Bridge probably playing together and having a good old time.

    RIP Budda
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

I am so sorry for your loss. Yes, it is very difficult to say goodbye to furry friend, not matter how long or short a time you shared with them. Remember all the fun and good times with your sweet Budda. Think of him now, young and healthy again, romping happily at the Bridge. He will be there waiting for the day you are reunited.
