    Buster

I am normally on the Cat side of PT but my good friend lost her beloved boy and sent me this tribute. I thought it was well worth sharing

    Buster Hindman

    5/24/97-9/22/08
    Aka FFD, Butter,JR.,Charlie Brown, Butterkins
    The top favorite memories:

    • Eating an entire chocolate sheet cake and surviving…. What a champ!
    • Ripped and ate 4 heirloom bibles-no wonder he was such a kind spirit
    • Drinking from the toilet and shaking his drool on Lacey and friends ( can you hear all the ewws?)
    • Helping my brother-little did Bob know that He strongly disliked flashlight beams-Bob was under the sink and flashed the light. Buster saw it and jumped under the sink thus wedging the two so tightly they couldn’t move! Bob thought they could be there til I got home @5 but luckily Buster farted and they were able to move
    • As a puppy, he decided he wanted a baseball cap which was on the bedpost-he pulled and pulled til he got the cap-and the bedpost!
    • Sunday mornings I liked to walk downtown to get a cup of coffee and he would come with me. There was a long line, so I tied him to the bike rack- (told him I’d be right back) a few minutes later I hear someone yell ”Look at that dog?” so I turned to find Buster pulling the entire bike rack between a BMW and Mercedes-luckily no scratches
    • While resting from radiation/chemo and too tired to walk him I would flash the beam up and down the stairs and all over, he would chase it-couldn’t have survived that period without him
    • He always liked to “help” in the kitchen ( what a good helper he was) -one time he was licking dishes in the dishwasher when his collar got caught on the bottom rack-panicky he yanked and pulled the rack up the stairs breaking all the dishes-oops… he was only trying to help
    • Christmas morning was his favorite-waited til we weren’t looking and would dive into the stockings-ate a zillion Hershey kisses-that night we didn’t need to turn on the light out back-there was enough light from the aluminum foil balls.
    • We will miss him terribly-he was our rock
    • Eating while laying down… This was a classic!!
    • Avid cubs fan… end of the curse! we WILL win!
    • Biggest swimming fool in town, he loved showing off and diving to VERY bottom of any pool he could get into! (which was limited because his hair would clog all the filters)

    RIP beautiful boy

Those are such great memories of a wonderful dog. I laughed at several of them, with tears in my eyes.

What kind of dog was Buster?

RIP Buster, you will definitely be missed by your loving family.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Thank you for your kind reply. My friend has a great sense of humor and Buster was the funniest dawg I've known. He was a big old blondie Golden R. I miss his sloppy kisses. He was always a puppy in a big dog body. RIP Buttercup.

RIP Buster! What a comical guy you were - you need a rest after all those antics. Your humans sure do have a lot of great memories to look back on.

So sorry to hear about Buster The RB is a brighter place now. He's sure to liven up the place. I know how much he will be missed. We'd love to see a photo of him. I hope your friend will find some comfort in our words.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.
