I am so broken hearted to tell you that we had to put Sades to sleep this morning.
As some of you may remember we had brought him to the vets last Monday as he had injured himself from jumping down too hard from the cat tree or bureau. You can read about it here; http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=147167
All week he was very quite, which was good for him to heal, and seemed to come around on Thursday by jumping up on the cat tree and somewhat being himself. Yesterday though, I told my son that Sades still was not quite right and I thought another visit to the vets was in order, as I was concerned about him. He had become too quite and was laying in the bathroom which he has NEVER done before. We were going to bring him in today when my vet opened up at 11:00 A.M., but my son woke me up at 5:00 this morning to say that something was seriously wrong with Sades. His breathing was labored and he was very lethargic. Off to the emergency vets we went and it wasn't good news. To make a long story short, with everything that they could have done for him, Sades would have maybe another 6 months, if that. We decided not to put him through this, that and the other and made the dreadful decision that all pet lovers hate to make.
