I admire him so much for stepping up to the plate for the animals.

I'm so glad people seem to be seeing that the way these breeder dogs
are treated is definately "animal cruelty" as defined by law.

Whaddya know... Fast Eddie does something right. Bravo!

Now, as for actually jailing people who runs the mills, thats another story. A large majority of thes things are run by the plain community. I doubt Fast Eddie will allow the news fenzy that would come from mass arrests at plain community farms. Those folks bring in a LOT of tourist dollars. He would not want their reputation tarnished.

They are doing a fairly good job of that all by themselves. I couldn't believe it when I first heard that the Amish were some of the worst offenders.

Who said anything about sending them all to jail? Better to fine their butts,
have them forefit their animals & hopefull force them into another"crop"
besides living, breathing, dogs who live with this misery every day.

Only among people who pay attention to this issue, like people on this BB.

You should see the "tourist" part of town, even now... We were out that way yesterday, and the traffic was INSANE. I think half of NY and NJ was here. They FLOCK here to buy clothes with no sales tax and to see the Amish.

Puppy Mills are a horrible thing. I am with you all that they need to end. But how? I don't think fines and confiscation are the answer. Dry up the market for these animals. There has to be a way to do it, I don't know how, but there has to be a way. The reason I say fines and confiscation won't work is because the plain community (Amish, Old Order Mennonite and some Bretheren) is LOADED. They can easily replace any losses...

    A pickle indeed...
