"Many of the brands involved in the recall are national brands produced at multiple facilities. A chart for all products is below. For example, PEDIGREE(R) is manufactured in numerous facilities throughout the country, and Everson represents a very small portion of the manufacturing base -- 2.7 percent of total PEDIGREE(R) production."

sure is interesting to see how many pet foods come out of one factory when some are supposed to be so much better than others

what do you mean?
I dont see one decent food on that list

and a little exert from a friend on another board concerning processing companies..

There aren't that many processors for companies to choose from. Natura has one, Diamond, Eagle, Shenango... With over well 150 kinds of foods out there they are divided between 3 or 4 basically. Natura doesn't process anything but Innova products so that leaves maybe 4 plants. Diamond makes at least 60 different foods, they use a recipe, they don't choose the ingredients. They make them to the specs. of the company. It's hard to get a new food into production just because they are over loaded as it is. Food companies are feeling the bite of soaring production costs. It's sad but a fact... let's hear it for the greed of the oil companies.

so just because a crappy food and a good food come from the same plant doesnt mean a thing, the plant just processes the food to the companys specific recipe

that's very true - there are no good foods on that list. i don't feed any of them and a crapload on that list I'd never heard of before.
Altho Some people think Pedigree the best Dog food. They think Pedigree is **shudder** expensive. HA - its people that don't really research what they are feeding their dog that feel that.
its been brought to light in the last pet food recall that many of the 'better' foods are processed at the same plant. yes according to the companies recipe so therefore with some of the same ingredients and then they are all tainted.

I txted a friend of mine last night to tell her about the recall b/c I just knew they fed their dogs Ol Roy b/c they are cheap like that.
They are constantly complaining about their inside dog (don't get me started that's a whole nother thread) and his hyperactivity.
She said Oh Hubby doesn't feed him that he feeds him kibbles and bits Lamb and Rice.

I have told her REPEATEDLY that that is the WORST food to feed. That it is akin to feeding twinkies to the dog.
I txted her back and said "oh you mean you are feeding him twinkies and ho-hos?" She was like yea he is on a sugar high. I said No wonder he acts the way he does!!! I'm sure that she told her husband back when they got him not to feed him K&B b/c Staci Said so and so so he probably decided to feed it just b/c I said that. Trying to tell him anything is like taking a mosquito not to bite. Not gonna happen. And she blindly listens to him and repeats everything he says as the Gospel Truth.
