Austen your picture captured me immediately. I guess it is that piercing stare coming from your beautiful eyes. As I read your bio I learned that you seem to be able to rule your humans by using that gaze. I can just imagine you trying to move that huge water jug to get your 'glub glub' fix. I know that you give your humans many laughs, and today you have made us all laugh too. Though a very beautiful grown up kitty, I loved seeing the picture at the bottom of you and precious TK when you were wee widdle babies. Someday you will see him again. Happy COTD!

Austen with the shiny coat! Just LOOK at the sheen, oh my yes, you surely are one healthy kitty now.

I was attracted to you by the white spot under your chin. My Bobby is also all black with a white spot just about the same place. Then I read your story. Bobby was a part of a maintained feral colony when he was born. We caught him at 6 months old, skinny, barely 4 pounds, and ill. Food allergies! Oh my heart goes out to you and your humans for what we all went through nursing young 'uns back to health. I said a prayer for your sibling who didn't make it. That too is so tough to cope with.

Gorgeous Austen, I absolutely love your picture. It almost looks as if you are about to say "I didn`t do it!" Sounds like you had quite a scary beginning - and sorry that you lost your brother TK. You sound like a clever girl who knows what she wants and will do anything to get it! Your "tretch" trick sounds adorable to watch. Your story is inspirational and will probably be the hope and drive that some need when faced with such the sad and scary situation of finding a homeless animal who needs our help to survive. Bless you for having the courage and love to help these two little furry babies. T.K. may not have survived but it wasn't for lack of trying so that's a blessing in itself. Austen is quite the character and I wish you many years of fun and cuddles to come.

The other cats in our household helped us to raise her and keep her thriving. Austen is three now, and she is a healthy, active and fun cat. Austen is very communicative, using both voice and gestures to get her message across. Austen really doesn't care to take 'no' for an answer!

Austen, you are a beautiful shiny black kitty girl! I love that you are so communicative and determined! I'd be happy to walk by you just as an excuse to feed a treat to you, pretty girl. Happy Cat of the Day!

Oh Austen, those big beautiful eyes of yours just drew me in. And it sounds like it isn't just your eyes that are big and beautiful, it is your personality, too! You are just filled to the brim with quirks and tricks.. I bet you keep everyone in the house on their toes.

You are a special and lovely cat - I would love to watch your 'tretch' trick if your staff would be so kind as to video you doing it From an unfortunate beginning you have overcome many obstacles and this is reflected in your wonderful purrsonality and supreme intelligence.
