Chaplin and his Cousin!

One year ago, this past Tuesday, I trapped THREE kittens at a feral colony nearby. Chaplin was one of them!

They were only here about 48 hours, then off they went to foster homes for socializing. Chaplin returned about 2 weeks later and I eventually adopted him.

The other 2 kittens, his cousins (different litter, moms were siblings) were a brother and sister. I lost track of the male. The female was adopted by Donna -- Moosmom!

And yesterday, Wednesday, I met Donna in CT and she transferred the little lady, AliCat, back to me. So Chaplin's cousin is now living here with us! She is a bit nervous just now, and in a crate for a few days, so I don't have a current photo. Here is one from Moosmom:

Her coat is so sleek and shiney! I sat with her for half an hour this morning, gave her a little brushing. She is not used to dogs, but they don't care about any of the cats here, so she won't have any trouble from them.

Chaplin, along with Tommy and Tuppence, have been hanging out around her crate, peering in at her, since she arrived yesterday about 4:30 PM. The Welcome Committee, he he. They want another Thunder Cat to join their team for play times!

So I now have 2 sets of cousins. Tommy & Tuppence, who are brother and sister, are cousins of Bobby, but a whole year younger than him. Chaplin and AliCat were born within days of each other. I wonder if they remember one another?

And then I took a close up of Bobby. He is still not trusting of humans, this is the closest I've been to him for a few days! He IS making progress. He now knows his name, and "food in the dish!" as he dashes from any part of the house into the sewing room where he eats with Ebony and Ruffles.

You have no idea how reassuring it is to know she's with you and her siblings. She was "okay" here, but not truly happy.

Happy Gotcha Day, Chaplin! You are so handsome I could just give you a zillion kisses. I remember a year ago when your meowmom adopted you. AliCat, welcome to your new home! And Bobby, I see you snuggled there with some of your kitty siblings. Smoochies all around! (To the Bichons, too, please)

Yes, the hissy underweight female was Midnight and became Alicat. Glad I looked up that thread, as I didn't remember she was underweight! She is just a slight bit "full" now. Not pudgy, but I'll want to watch that she doesn't expand, as Crystal has done!

I sat with her on the sofa in the living room for a while this afternoon. It got quite busy with Tommy coming up and rubbing all over both of us, Lacey snuggling up next to me, Sparkle and Chestnut in and out, Marlin coming around, Tuppence checking what was what. A little too much too fast for her, she went from hissing to growling, and the airplane ears. So I carried her back into her crate. She wasn't even out 10 minutes this time, but I realized having all that attention was not her thing, at least not yet.

Now really, Pembroke Corgi, after all this time, and my ever expanding siggy, do you really need to ask if she is staying?

I am SO glad I STOPPED trapping when I did, I would need a larger house for the pets!
