    Anyone Been Following This Case

It was a horrible crime, two lives lost & the husband on trial. The trial
just ended and it's gone to the jury now. I think the guy's guilty as sin.
His actions after the deaths are so strange & unbelieveable.

I remember hearing about it and thinking that he was probably guilty. Has the trial been on Court TV? Several months ago my cable company removed Court TV from my cable. I used to love that channel for the trials and also Forensic Files.

Speaking from a married persons perspective, I'd be frantic. I sure wouldn't take the time to get plane tickets out of the country without telling anyone what happened. Did they figure out if he bought the tickets before he found his wife and child dead?
Thats the first question I'd be asking if I were a jurror.
Strange behavior indeed. Even if he didn't kill them, he for sure had to know SOMETHING was going on if their relationship was as close as the defense makes it out to be.

Yes, it is local to us, so has been in the news a lot, and terribly sad.

I read a few other stories linked to this one, about the case.

Sad to say...I think he is guilty. Murderers usually attend the funerals of their victims, so it's odd he didn't.

While things could have happened the way the defense said, it seems unlikely.

In the 5 person murder-suicide recently in Calgary, the husband who killed himself had been studying hard for architectural finals while working full time. His wife, a physiotherapist, had become a stay-at-home mom for their three girls. A rumour - which I have not been able to verify - was that the wife was pregnant again.

In this case, the husband was carrying a heavy mortgage, and said his wife was spending a lot of money on redecorating. I think he got worn down and cracked, badly.

Is stress a reason to kill your family? NO, abosolutely not. However, if a person has a mental illness lurking in their system, stress will bring it out.

I have a sad feeling that Western Society's view of the husband as the major breadwinner and financial support does nothing to help situations such as these - even when the husbands don't hurt anyone. It's too much for one person.

But where does a husband go for help? How does he say this traditional position is killing him without losing respect and being called a wimp?

Prayers for all that are hurting in this case.

I wonder how the gun got back to the FIL's house! How did she shoot herself in the head, then return the gun and end up in her bed dead UNDER a comforter? I don't see her in a state of depression snuggeling with the baby that caused that depression when she killed the baby or herself either. Was there any testimony of her even being depressed?

However... Could you imagine finding your wife and baby dead and being charged with their murder and being innocent?

There are just to many things that do not add up. I just hope they didn't bring him to trial to soon and him get off free from lack of evidence and evidence comes out later that proves he DID do it.

I could see her throwing up her hands in defense as he shot her and that be how she got gunpowder on her hands. He had all the time in the world to clean himself and the clothes up and get rid of any and all signs of gunpowder so that would carry no weight with me if I was on the jury.

Great question. An innocent man would have called 911 and not take
a plane ride to his parents house in another country. He told nobody and
made no effort to get help for her or the baby.

They should have opened up the airplane door for this guy on the way back from England. Guilty.

I hate when the cable companies shuffle/delete channels.
I love the Criminals Go Wild on A High Speed Drunk Driving Robbery Spree specials!

I don't like John Bunnell or the sound effects they put on the clips.
How can you hear the sound of tires squealing from 300 feet in a helicopter?

I've been following this trial closely, since it's right down the road. I remembered when it all happened. The baby was soooooo cute. I think he's guilty too. But I just have this feeling, the jury is going to be hung.

Cases don't usually show up on Court TV until the jury makes it's decision.

They changed the name of Court TV to Tru TV but it's the same stuff. They
have one show called Power & Privilege & Justice that I like to watch too. It's
    all high profile cases.

I remember reading about it but wasn't quite sure what to think. Could the fact that finding his wife and baby shot and dead have thrown him into shock and he left without knowing what he was doing? A bit like someone who is in a car accident and goes into shock and walks away without a trace...

I knew about the name change but it still doesn't help me. Nothing like that on my cable any more. It's gone. I loved Power and Privilege (Dominick Dunn). All great stuff, but I can't see any of it any more.

Well, bummer Pam. Have you called your cable people to put it back or
trade for another channel you don't watch?

Great. I just saw it on CNN. His excuses were just rediculous. What a loser.
