    Reaction To Shots

Poor Coco had his 3rd round of shots yesterday and the vet added a new one in the mix (nasel one for kennel cough prevention) from the last 2 rounds. Well, the combo of had before/new made him SUPER hyper. He didnt go to sleep until 1:15 a.m. Saturday. He had been up since 8:15 a.m. Friday. Coco was so bad that after dinner, We took him for his usual routine of playing at our ministers backyard (it's fenced in), hoping to tire him out. You could tell he wasnt himself towards the evening hours. Accessive barking while in his crate started late afternoon.
Finally at 1:15 a.m. he was so exhausted sleep finally came for him.

This morning we called our vet. Coco is going to take childrens benedryl 2x a day for next two days. Benedryl is calming him down.
We cant take him up to play in backyard for 2 days. Also keeping him inside from the heat (it's been in high 80's).

Coco is resting comfortabily in his crate. Mom is going to go take a much needed nap

Poor Coco and poor parents! My vets have always warned me my dogs and cats would be sleepy after their shots. I'm still waiting. One time however, we had a that same experience with Layla. She was wild all night after her puppy shots. When I mentioned it to the vet, she said that was unusual. When she got her shots at 16 months, she was fine. Get some rest, while you can.

I know pups can have different reactions, but mine have just been
a little sleepy afterwards. Maybe it was a combination of heat & the
shots & preventatives. Hope Coco feels better soon.
