    Why does she do this?

Does anyone have any thoughts on why Sunny constantly bumps into the backs of my legs or crosses behind me from side to side or bites my ankles when we walk? I try to get her to walk WITH me (and, as most of you know, she's no longer using a choke collar to walk but she still walks pretty well with a normal leash and collar now that she's gotten the idea of it). She will walk with me but she does an awful lot of bumping into me and criss crossing and I'm wondering if she's trying to "herd" or if she's trying to get some other message across. Today, when we were walking, she pulled on the lead only once and that was when she clearly needed to go to the side of the road to the woody area to go potty so that was a good sign for me to learn from her.

    Thanks!

How old is she again? I wouldn't expect a young puppy to have perfect walking skills. The criss crossing and bumping into you just sounds like puppy boredom kicking in. Young pups don't really tolerate long walks well because they get bored easily.

Thanks. She's only 14 weeks old. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something subtle. She's really been walking very nicely on the leash so we'll just keep working with her

Oh yeah, she's definitely a young'un. I wouldn't push her for nice loose-leash walking skills until she's about 16 weeks. At that point, you can start being stricter because her attention span is longer
