    Itty Bitty

    Hi there,

Basil is such a tiny kitten, he is three months old today! I have picture of Noah at a little over his age and compared to him, Basil is so little. We got Noel at three months and she was MUCH bigger too. What do you think? Could he have been the runt of the litter? When do cats get a good growth spurt? Do you guya think he's tiny for his age?

    Guess

Well, my comment would be that he is really younger than what you think.

He could also be tiny - and will go through a growth spurt later on. I had a friend who's cat was very, very tiny for months and is now the normal size. They called her Trinket, cause she was so tiny.

You do have a tiny one there, no matter how old he is!

I think Basil is proof of that old saying about size not mattering! He is adorable regardless!

Take a look at Yum Yum's photos on the website. She was tiny too when we got her at 2 months old...now she is a year old and weighs 9lbs. I think she got her growth spurt at about 6 months. Looking at Basil's pics always makes me want to have another kitten

Basil is tiny but adorable. I'm sure that he'll hit a growth spurt and become a normal sized cat. Believe it or not, Pepper was also a tiny kitten. He's now a large cat and weighs 17lbs.

Great! I love big cats! I can't wait to see what he looks like when he's older!

On a thread in Cat Breeds I was saying that his muzzle is turning white. He even has small white hairs all over his legs and tummy too! Do you think he could be a tuxy?

Oh what a tiny precious angel!!! I must say that Basil in so incredibly cute. It can be hard to tell about size. He may just end up being a really small cat. I am always amazed at how small my sister's black cat is, but compared to my hunka hunka cats...anything seems small! LOL LOL Next to my sister's 9-10lb cat, my 15-17lb boys seem quite large!

On the other hand, he could just be a late bloomer and have a growth spurt later on down the road. In any case...enjoy the adorable kittenness while it lasts! How cute!!!!

Good things come in small packages!

I think Basil is so cute the way he is. You also have to look at his background to see how big he will be. Did you get to meet his mother or siblings when you adopted him? When we got our cat Sam as a 2 month old kitten we met her mother who was a petite 1 year old tux cat. We thought Sam would be small too but she obviously takes more after her father ending up at 14 lbs with some longhair mixed in too!
Isn't Noel a rather petite cat? And does Noah have something like Maine Coon in him? If so then expect Basil to be closer in size to Noel instead of Noah. No matter what you probably won't know for sure how big he will be for another year anyway!
And I love the photos of big brother Noah taking care of Basil they are so cute together!

    They sure do Vermontcat!

When we adopted him, he was with three other litters, no mommies or daddies. The person wasn't sure about the parents, saying she just got the cats a few weeks before...remember this is the same woman who said [B]only[B] our cat had mange! His litter mate was bigger than he was and was all gray.

I am thinking he'll be the same size as Noel too...I can't wait to see!
