Photos from our zoo visit yesterday! :)

Yesterday, I visited the zoo of Hannover with my mother, Reinhold and Emma, and of course I took a lot of photos. Actually we wanted to see the new-born elephant boy (two weeks old), but I only saw him for a couple of minutes. My mother was on her way to the zoo restaurant because she was hungry, and planned to see the little elephant later, but when we came back, he and his mother were already inside the building which was not open for the public. More than annoying, but I'm glad that I took a look at him before we went eating, and I took some photos then (even though they did not turn out so well).

I took hundreds of photos, but missed a lot of my favorite animals, like the giraffes, the tiger, the cheetah, the lions, and the hippos. I had no or only a few photos of them. Last year when we went to Hannover, I got better shots, I think, but this time, with my S5, the pics turned out better, technically. So all in all, it was not too bad.

Anyway, here are some of them, I hope you enjoy to meet these beautiful animals:

This is the little elephant boy, he was sooo tiny!!

Kirstin, your pictures are awesome! Have you ever considered being a photographer? These pictures would be perfect to put into a portfolio to show your ability. Really, this is almost as good as seeing these creatures in person. I hope you will share a few more.

Wow, those are gorgeous, what kind of lens do you use? The close ups are phenomenal.

    Thanks!

Well, regarding the lenses... I do not use a special one, I don't have a DSLR. The S5 has a 12x optical zoom, and I used that one in some of the photos.
