I don't know why my human's so upset by the sight of blood. I guess they think forward and back in time a lot more than we do (like in that mouse poem) and it makes them worry. I itch, I scratch, sometimes I bleed - no big deal, right?
*sigh* wrong. I really was getting TOO itchy, and she started reading ingredients - and she figured that Aspergillus oryzae might be the culprit. It was in my Cat Lube digestive treats, my chickeny-bits! And she stopped giving them to me.
I'm still digesting OK - she started putting something called psyllium in my paté - kind of like a kitty version of filé gumbo, I think - and I still use my box like normal except when I'm not in the mood for paté (I'm still mostly a crunchies kinda cat). And my face is MUCH less itchy, although she still insists on rubbing Corti-Calm on my healing ouchies, and sometimes gets it on my pretty fur! What a mess!
But no more chickeny bits for me. Daphne, whose human Maggie is my secondary (when my human goes away), will get nearly 3 bottles all to herself. I taste-tested Grass Gel the other day, but my human says it has petroleum and I can't have much of it or it'll keep me from getting the nutrients I need from my food. Vetbasis Chicken Flavored Hairball Remedy is really nothing to write home about - surely they make it in fish flavor! I purred that in my human's ear last night. Let's see if she figures it out.
Meanwhile, my human's much happier, and it really is kind of nice not to be woken up from a nap by a ferocious itch. Being allergic is no fun. I guess I'll be OK without chickeny bits, and my human's much happier!
Love, Smudge
