    Dog Stairs for Marlin

Marlin has made it clear that it is a HUGE SACRIFICE for him not being allowed to sleep on Dad's bed. LOL. (He is SO dramatic!) So we will need something for when his 30 days of no activity is over.

I just purchased this set of stairs at an ebay auction.

You can get them at the maker's web site for $65, and free shipping. At their auction, I got it for under $47, including the shipping fee. I did quite a bit of research and this seemed the best deal for what we will need.

What we REALLY want is this ramp:

Hard to tell in the photo, but there is a 5 inch guard rail which encourages the dog to stay ON the ramp and not jump off part way down. The ramp is SO expensive. Dad said he will consider making one, which would be wonderful.

Here is the web site for the ramp:
    http://www.bestpetramp.com/5ft-dog-bed-ramp.htm

Among other things, I like the ramp because it goes along the foot of the bed, so Dad can still easily get in and out of bed on either side. It has a platform at the top for the dog to turn. With the stairs, not sure if we can put it at the foot and let him turn or if we will have to put it at the side of the bed, sticking out.

I am hoping this will solve the problem.

The ramp seems like it would be pretty easy to build - maybe you could do it with Dad's supervision!

Those look terrific! I hope they help him get up and down easier.

How cool! I hope Marlin will use them instead of trying to play *Superman!* I think the ramp is also an excellent idea. It will be a nice project for you and your dad to work on together.

I belong to a poodle board and I am attaching some photos that a gal posted there of her little toy poodle who was just too little to get up on the bed by himself. They made him some stairs (you can see him up on the bed ) and they also made stairs for him in the kitchen as he enjoyed watching his mommy on the computer.

Just don't let Marlin see these or he will be asking for stairs to be built all over the house.

Oh Pam, those photos are terrific! I see a pet bed at the nd of the kitchen counter, and one on the way to the big bed too.

Armakat makes great products. I have had two of their Kitty Condos. Their easy to put together and very sturdy. I hope little Marlin gets the idea and goes with it.
