    Husky in Kill Shelter, NYC-UPDATE #1 & 7

    JAN 12- HERE HE IS!

This "lost husky" has been taken to a kill shelter. He has till 14 days to be claimed or adopted. If anyone can help, please follow theLINK . He's obviously been someone's pet he has a collar but no tags. Appears to have some training. I'll try to get more info on which shelter he's at.

    Please cross-post to other sites!

I followed the link and sent an e-mail to the person sending them to petfinder to contact local rescues.

This sure sounds a lot like the hoax that went around about the lab mix puppies a few months back. I hope is is a hoax and that this wonderful Husky boy is not in any danger, but just incase it's for real I wanted to make sure they knew where they could find rescue info at.

I agree with you, Angie. Why would she ask people to contact her email account as opposed to the shelter? Wouldn't it just make more sense to just give the shelter info up front? She can always call and check on the status of the dog that they turned in.

I posted it because my son sent it to me & asked me to post it on Pet Talk. I also emailed the link on the attached blog & asked for the Shelter name, we'll see if anything comes back.
I'll apologise in advance in case it turns out to be some sicko's idea of a joke, but a lost husky with no tags is a sadly familiar story. Keeping paws crossed...

Pat, you won't need to apologize if it's actually a hoax.... we all would have posted something like this asap if we had gotten it ourselves!

    UPDATE:
    here he is!
    lost husky
Yes, this is for real. I received an e-mail from the people who found him. If no one claims him by the end of the week, they plan to go get him & take him to either a no-kill shelter or rescue.
She said her husband fell in love with him, but they have a concern about adding another animal to their household (PTer's are hardly sympathetic to the "one animal is enough" line of thinking, lol) So who knows, maybe this boy's already found a home & they just haven't caught on.... yet! Paws still crossed!
