THEN HE BRINGS KITTY BAGS. WE KNOW THAT THE ANIMAL WELFARE WILL HELP, AND AUNT JANICE TOO BUT WE KNOW OUR DAD WILL FEEL ISOLATED IF HE CANT GO OUT.
HE WISHES HE WAS CLOSER TO THE STORES NOW.

Thankfully, ours aren't planning on going on strike.

Phred - you ever tried to HERD cats???? Poor Gary would be pulled in 6 directions at once - and stay at a standstill!
Gary, I hope the Hamilton Transit gets things right. I know our Calgary people were without a contract for a LOOONG time...it isn't always the staff's fault.

Many prayers that the transit situation gets fixed. I know how I feel when I have no transportation!
Gary, I don't know your age, but here in Indiana, we have Councils on Aging (I work for our local one!) and we provide transportation for anyone over the age of 60! We take seniors to doctor appointments, chemotherapy and dialysis and we take them weekly to get their groceries! Would there be such a system in your area? Just a thought.

The Trouble In Hamilton Is That The Majority Of The People, Especially The More Affluent Wouldnt Take The Bus If It Was Free And These Are The Peiople Who Vote And Have The City Councils Ear.
Hamilton Needs Money And The Bus Service Loses Money So They Would Be Happy To Let Them Go On Strike.
The People Who Uses The Buses Here Are The Poor, The Elderly And The Students And Those People Dont Care About Us At All.
But Ive Heard The Strike Wont Be Until January.
The Lucky Found Cats, Come What May Have Lots Of Food, Lots And Lots!!so They Are All Right.
Its Just That I Would Get Cabin Fever, Being Stuck Here 24/7!!

I LIKE CINDER AND SMOKES IDEA OF HITCHING UP THE FOUND PARADISE HOTEL CATS.
BUT FRANKLY THEY ARE A BIT LONG IN THE TOOTH TO BE ABLE TO CARRY THIER FAT OLD OWNER ALL THAT FAR, AND CARRY GROCERIES HOME AS WELL.

I've often thought that the people who actually have the power to make such decisions should be REQUIRED, as the first part of the decision-making process, to use the transit system INSTEAD OF their cars for a week or so.. long enough to get an idea of what's available (or not) on weekdays, weekends, holidays and how easy (or not) it is to manage their lives.

I sure agree with that. Here our bus runs from 7:30 am to 5 pm through the week. 9 to 3 on Saturday and forget going anywhere on Sunday!Originally Posted by phesina
