PERMISSION TO CROSSPOST
Amanda is a very sweet 15 year old kitty who we know has had a tough life but through it all she is the sweetest most loving and docile cat and deserves to live out her golden years. Amanda was originally abandoned and picked up as a stray last year in Mount Dora Florida. Since she did not do well at the shelter and the people at the shelter felt she wouldn’t live long in that environment they called upon one of their regular volunteers to see if she could adopt her and get her out of the shelter. This very kind volunteer did adopt her although since her husband is highly allergic and has asthma she had needed to live in her own room and on the enclosed porch. Amanda was very happy in her new life but the traumas she had endured prior to her adoption have had a lasting effect. The family that abandoned her declawed her and she is blind it is believed in one eye and partially blind in the other. The vet believes this is due to a bullet that is lodged in her brain. She has also had all her teeth removed due to sinus and teeth problems that were causing her great pain. She is also currently on medication at the moment for ringworm so she would most likely need to be an only kitty at least until she is ringworm free. Amanda has had all the very best medical attention and is also negative for FIV/FeLV. This poor baby has been through so much but through all of this she remains a happy little trooper. To make matters worse for Amanda the angel who adopted her is having some very serious personal health issues and has had to be hospitalized once and could very likely go back into the hospital again very soon. Amanda has been boarded at the vet during all of this but this is not how she should be living her life as she is very lonely. Her mom is so sad but cannot care for her right now so sadly she needs to find Amanda a new home. Time is of the essence here as Amanda’s caretaker could need to be hospitalized again at any time and if this happens she has nowhere for Amanda to go this time and she does not want to have her euthanized just because she cannot care for her. This need for a new home is of great sadness to her owner but if there was a way to find a miracle for Amanda that would at least give her peace so she can concentrate on her own recovery.
