    One week

*Sigh* Today is a week since my dalmation, Emily, had to put put asleep. I am more upset than ever, espeically with school starting in a week. I know she cant come back, but i want her to! I miss her alot. i have been getting better, but i have these habits, like giving her a treat after i give the other dog one ( an extra!) ANd looking in the room just to smile at her, i did that alot the past week and it hurts when i realize shes not there anymore!!! Oh jeez i got myself bawling again~ I just wanted to let everyone to know i am back, and about Emmy.

Oh Rainbow....I'm so sorry that your lost your Emily It's one of the hardest things we have to endure as furparents. Your reactions are exactly what all of us have experienced after such a devastating loss. You hear them, look for them and see them everywhere. Is this the first doggie you have lost? Somehow, that loss is especially hurtful. We have all been there and know how sad and empty you are feeling. Just these past couple of weeks we have lost 2 beloved Pet Talk doggies, Buddy and Rufus, and we are all feeling their pain of their loss as well. I hope that your many cherished memories of Emmy will help ease your pain. But I also know right now you are still at that point where all you want is to have her back. But take some comfort in knowing that she is now at the Rainbow Bridge, running happy, whole and free with all of our beloved doggies and pets, waiting for that day, far down the road, when you will be united again. Please come here and talk whenever you feel down. When you feel up to it, share some happy memories with us. I always found that to be a great help. We all empathize with your loss and are here to give you support and love. Bless you dear, beautiful, sweet Emmy. You are very, very loved.(((Hugs))) to you dear Sami. Sandra

Most of us here know the Rainbow Bridge story. Just in case you haven't seen it, I thought I would put it here for you. Please know that we understand what you are feeling. Any time you want to talk about Emily, this is a good place to come.

    Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

So sorry about your loss of Emily. But loved dogs do not die, they are always with us in spirit, till we meet again at the other side of the Bridge.

Emily will live on in your memories and special times you spent together. It is difficult now, but in time, the pain will ease.

    R.I.P Emily!

    Sami,
I like to think of it as "Heaven". It wouldn't be Heaven to me if my pets weren't there with me in spirit when my time comes. I'm sorry about your Emily. I have been out of town and I'm just catching up on my Pet Talk reading. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Losing a pet for us is like losing a family member. Your Emily had a wonderful life with you, though. I know you will always have special memories of her.

So sorry to hear about your sweet Emily I know things are tough now, but hopefully starting school will help you take your mind off what has happened. I know how you feel, I'm here to listen any time you need to talk.
