    2 10yr old Female Aussies

A friend of mine just called. And someone she knows has 2 Female Aussies Both Females. Outdoor Dogs.. 10 yrs old. She needs to find them a home before Sun.. or they will be PTS. She is moving and can't take them with her. One is a Blue merle her name is Mika, and the Red Merle names Marly. They are on The Florida Aussie website. http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/...?petid=9172010

She would prefer them to go together, but at this point.. someone to take them even if split up will be ok. If I can't find anyone.. My friend would take them in, But only for a cpl days... As in her Apt she is only alowed to have 2 pets.. and she has a cat, and a GSD already.

So, Any help would be appreciated. LET ME KNOW! We need Foster or Perm Homes for these poor girls

How upsetting. I'll contact a few people but that's about all I can do considering finances.

Beautiful dogs! I'm so sorry that your friend is having to find them new homes; I bet she's so upset after having them 10 years!

I would love to adopt them; I bet they're sweet girls but I can't. I will ask some friends. I have a friend who wants a border collie so I'll call her today and just see if she might consider these 2 girls.

    Good Luck!

OMG!! I love them! And I already have a female Aussie. I sent the link to my BF and said can we get them? LOL Don't hold your breath, I'm sure he'll say no. But it doesn't hurt to ask, right? I'll talk to him more about it when I get home too. As I've been told Aussies only have life expectancies of approx 12 years. So these two have a few good years left in them and deserve a good home to finish their lives out.
Are they moving to California or Canada?

ETA: I couldn't wait till I got home, so I called him. He helped me realize we can't. He tried saying that's three times the poop to pick up. I said I'll help. Then he said it's three times the vet bills. Since we are tight with finances right now, I couldn't argue with that one. Especially since Marly is on medication.
I'm so sad. I'm afraid these dogs won't find homes because of their age. I thought of fostering, but that's too far to travel just to be rehomed again.
I hope someone will take them and save them.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Too far? Heck no! We've had foster dogs come from Kentucky all the way to Canada and they have made it a-ok!

Yes, I know it is going to be VERY Tough finding them a place. and Remedyl is actually Not SUPER expesive. I used it for my old Shep X 100mg tho a day, so double the dose. I would even throw in what I have left over to help someone out! I feel soo Bad for these girls. If we had a place of our own, I would take them in! :-(

Well, I can try to see what I can do. It's a long shot, but I'll try.

Woo Hoo! I am so glad someone can foster them.
Now all we need to do is get them there.
Come on PT, I know we can do it.
