Pet/human snoring the same?

I put this in general cause it's not to do with just one type of pet.
Both Rockee and Ducky snore and I was just wondering if it's the same for pets as it is for humans?
My dad snores in his sleep and has to wear a mask because his heart stops and that's why he snores. I'm afraid that maybe the animals snoring is for the same reason.

You know , that's a good question. I always wondered the same thing, but never bothered to look it up. I figured it was unlikely they studied this in dogs (i know they have with narcolepcy though.) Yet i just looked it up and there were plenty of results.

No idea about getting a machine for a dog though. I imagine they'd be hard to get ahold of. (or maybe not... they've been doing it since 1979 in Aus.)

Your dogs' snoring may or may not be normal. *shrug* Perhaps you can get a recording of it and check with the vet.

I know for an fact that snoring for short - muzzled dogs is natural because of their small noses. I also know that because at 1:00 AM Reggie will go at it! I mean, it sounds like an bear growling in my room lol! I dunno if that is true for long - muzzled dogs or not. But, you know what they say, If in doubt, Google it! (Thats pretty sad that most anyone who knows what Google is uses it as an verb.)

Hmmm.....never gave it much thought, as every dog I ahve ever owned has snored! Duke is exceptionally good at it, and usually cranks the volume up when you are trying to watch a realy good movie!
