    Gastro

My 3 years old female cat has a gastro according to the vet. She had diarrhea for the first two days, and with medication and special food, she pooped once a day, the diarrhea being controlled. It's been 5 days now, but she still pooped on the carpet and urinated once also on the carpet. I put another litter in the living-room so she has two in case of an emergency. Has anyone had a similar experience ? How long this problem will occur ? The vet told me that she is very nervous and may panick when she has the urge... I am a little bit discouraged. All her vital signs were good though: temperature, tummy, anal glands, no deshydration, nothing except for the «pooping on the carpet». And she runs while doing it: you can imagine her path ? I saw the vet again yesterday, and all seemed good since her diarrhea is almost done. Any advice ? Thanks !

Something to calm her - ask your vet about Feliway. Feliway comes from the glands on the cat's face that they rub on things or people when they feel safe and affectionate.

It can be expensive, but it lasts a very long time.

Even with urine infections, cats start to think the litter box means pain. Try to retrain her gently, and give her lots of love.

I hope your baby gets well soon!

    No running today...

Okay, I'll be patient. Today, no accident so far. If she forgets herself, I'll try Feliway. Thanks !!!
