    My pond...

If anyone is interested, here is a little clip of my koi and shubunkins swimming in the pond. It is nice and clear right now(algae has been bad since the summer has been so hot) so I figured I better do some taping while you can see all the way to the bottom. Hope you enjoy. Don't mind the big splash that Piglet does. She thought she might have missed a piece of food in the fold of the liner oh and the second splash is Kanga and Roo(I guess they wanted to double check).

Thanks guys. Just to give an idea on size - the smaller fish seen swimming are baby shubunkins from May 2006 and they are 3 inches or so.

Wow those are gorgeous, they made me remember my big Queen, she would fit in with those fishies so well. She was a foot long and 2 inches.

    How peaceful!
Not much better than watching a pond full of gorgeous koi to relax you! Atleast, that always works for me. :]

Beautiful fish, and they look very happy, too! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, thank you and thank you.

Chilli, you are absolutely right. I love to just go sit on the sidewalk or the bench near the pond and watch them gracefully swim around and listen to the water. When I watch them all the days stressors just seem to fade away.

    Your pond is beautiful!
My friends have a georgous Koi pond too. They use something spacific for algae prevention and it works awesome, Their pond is always clear and algae free. I'll ask them what they use and let you know.

Thanks for the compliment. I would love to know what they use. We did not have this problem last year but this year-man oh man the algae has been horrible. We get it all cleared up and a couple weeks later it is back again, it's almost like overnight, go to bed - clear pond, wake up - yucky yuck! Your neighbors wouldn't want any fish would they? I need to get rid of some of these babies from last year

They're actually not my neighbors. I used to work for her, she's like a mom to me. They're in the process of moving from Kissimmee to Osprey. They just got a pond built at their new house, they haven't moved their fish yet though. I'll ask them if they want any more. I think you live between their houses, don't you?

huh? I don't even know where Osprey is LOL. My hubby probably does though. I know where Kissimmee is though. Geeze...I guess that's what happens when you work out of the house, secluded from the REAL world.

Last count I had 17 babies left, 14-15 that I need to find homes for(we are thinking of keeping a couple). Let me know, if they do and when they are ready they are welcome to have some of them or all of them if they have room. I just hate to take them to a pet store. We even donated some to the middle school for their pond. Just so you are sure, the babies are not the koi though, they are the shubunkins.

My friend emailed me a link to the stuff they use for algae. The stuff they use is called Algaefix.
