Brian leaves for 2nd Tour in Iraq

Please pray for Brian and the other members of his unit as they are now either in Iraq or in Kuwait waiting to move into Iraq. And of course, pray for my daughter, Christy, Jasmine and Dominic. His tour is for 15 months so this will be a long time for the family to be apart and of course, a lot to worry about with the deaths of our soldiers continuing to climb.

Christy and the kids have moved in with us since their house in Cincinnati has not sold. The plan was for her to find a house to rent here in Findlay so she could be near by for us to help. Well, we are really near by now! However her 3 dogs, my 5 dogs, 3 adults, and 2 kids sure make this house seem smaller!

Here are some of the pictures Christy took of their time together - Brian is stationed at Fort Drum, New York so these pictures are from some motel near there.

Jasmine ready for the 10+ hour drive.

Dominic - is that a sleepy smile or is he already asleep?

The wait is getting a little long

A picture of the soldiers waiting together. Brian is kind of in the center with a big white toothed grin on his face.

During the long wait (around a 7 hour wait) Jasmine finds some friends to play with - where else - in the dirt of course!

So Christy and the kids are back and now we all have a long wait until Brian and his unit returns. We will all be praying they all come back safe and sound. It's a big worry for all of us.

The rest of the pictures are Here

The wait for the buses to the RDF is nothing compared to the wait INSIDE the RDF. I took 2 units through the process, and one of them wound up living in the RDF (Rapid deployment facility at Drum) for almost 2 days.

Good luck to them, and godspeed. I hope they all come home safely.

I can only add my prayers that Brian will be home safe and sound with his family sooner than expected. We are asking so much from our brave young men and their families. If Christy and the kids need anything that the folks here at Pet Talk could pitch in for, I think you should surely mention it.
