Do you give your cats a bath?

I was just wondering if anyone else gives their cats a bath.

I have to give Snow a bath. If not she will get fleas. Once a month before I put on her new treatment of flea medication, I put her in the tub and scrub her down with kitty shampoo (yes they make cat shampoo ) In the beginning Snow is alittle annoyed with all the water, but after awhile she gets use to it and loves it!

So does anyone else give their kitties a bath?

My kitties all get baths, I start the moment they come into my home, and continue at least once every 1-2 months.

Khaith is the only cat who would actually tolerate a bath. The girls would tear me apart.
Eventhough Khaith doesn't mind them, I don't give him one unless he actually needs it. He hops in the shower with me every now and then, though.

My cats get a bath every other month. See, I have 9 cats, and I am allergic to cats. So this helps control all the dander and allergens and what not.

They don't like it, but they are used to mom's idiosyncracies!

I used to use the tub, but now I find the kitchen sink is SO easy. That spray hose for wetting down and rinsing, and I'm not all bent over. Plus they don't have this HUGE body of water to terrify them.

ALWAYS use cat shampoo on cats. NEVER use dog shampoo or dog flea treatments; it can be toxic to cats.

I voted No Way! But I have given Taz a couple baths in his life time due to a flea epidemic we had years ago. So I would only do it if it was absolutely necessary.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

    Never!

Only once bathed a cat, he was ill and got cat poo all over himself, I still have the scars to prove it and all this was over thirty years ago.

I voted "no way", but my answer really should be "rarely". Every one of my cats got a bath soon after they were trapped. I've bathed them a few other times, but it's not too often. Sundae went through a phase a few years ago, she'd dart out of the door and roll in the sand. I'd run out after her, almost always getting there just a second after she began rolling. (She looked like a chinchilla in a dust bath.) I'd then have to bring her in and bathe her every time.

Sonny would get a washing with a wet washcloth once in a great while.

Callie got a bath before coming in the house as she already had fleas. But she's 100% indoor cat so no need to worry about fleas or anything of the like now. She didn't even have an infestetation, we found 7 fleas, no eggs, and some flea poop. Must have been a recent accquisition as a stray.
