more coming but have to run oout first. Will continue when I get back. sorry.
Oh, your pictures are so good! I've enjoyed seeing them. I believe the guy above may be called a coati- they are relatives of the raccoon. He certainly looks the the ones we have at the zoo here in town.Originally Posted by kittycats_delight

Your zoo looks really lovely and it's nice to see that many of the animals have such green habitats (I hate zoos where the animals just have to sit on a concrete slab).
Amazing photo's Michelle - well done you! There are so many where the animals are looking directly and you and your camera...think your right...they do recognise you!! LOL!!
Mandy
Kittycats_delight (Michelle) thanks for the great signature!
Back and more pics.
Thanks you guys for the lovely comments and you are right Pembroke_Corgi that is a Coati. I couldn't remember but as soon as I seen it a light bulb went on and said 'YES!!! That's it!!!'
ok so on to more pics.
My little buddy. The ringtail lemur being a goofball
Griffin (I think)
This bird is huge. He stands about 4 feet tall or more and the silly goof was in a tree. So funny to see.
Can we say majestic? The picture hardly does him justice.
I can't remember the names of the tropical birds. Anyone want to hazard a guess?
more coming
Another tropical bird
and another
and another. They have so many gorgeous tropical birds in their aviary.
This pic makes me laugh. Kiss my bottom says the birdy in the middle.
Mackaw pretty blue baby
still more coming. Almost done though
more mackaws. Two reds under the canopy on the top of their tree
Cockatoo under the canopy on the top of the other tree
Flamingos
fabulous tortoise
Ring neck dove sitting on the top of the tree in the mackaw and cockatoo enclosure. The tree was about 20 feet high.
More coming. Thing it will be the last.
I believe the very first pics are of the Bongo Antelope. The rodent in the first pic of the second post is an agouti and yep, the next creatures are coatis.
I love that maribou stork (huge bird standing in tree)! He has one heck of a bill on him, lol.
Yes, I spend too much time reading wildlife reference books.![]()
Prairie dog...digging
and hiding
iguana...strutting his stuff
now we see why he was 'strutting' he found some pretty girls
and finally. The second pair of red kangaroos.
That's all folks. I hope you enjoyed them. I know there was a lot but it was so hard to pick which ones to post. I had over 200 so I think you guys got away lucky.
Thanks
Michelle
Wow, what a grand selection you posted for us! Thank you.
I love tropical birds, so colorful. I can't imagine living in a place where that is what you see flying about.
Thanks much.
.
I just love looking at all of the zoo animals! I feel like I've been there. The birds are especially gorgeous!![]()
