    Your favorite seasonings?

IT's been too hot to cook lately so I have been eating lots of salads-

Now I am hooked on lemon pepper and season salt.

What do you eat on your foods?

that's an interesting concept on salads.
I like kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper.
I never used to like Watermelon with salt - I refused to eat it as a kid.
But now I LOVE it with Kosher Salt sprinkled over it...

I like Lemon pepper and a mesquite/bbq blend I picked up by Mrs. Dash.

Salt and fresh squeezed lemon over water melon is great.

    ---------------

Oh, I forgot the vinegar on the salad.

My favorite salad is sliced tomato, cucumber, onion- Vinegar, salt and lemon.

Some cracker and a soft cheese with black pepper on the side.

EEEEEWWWWWW...watermelon and salt with lemon??? Are you crazy????

Lemon pepper is awesome on chicken and I mix up my own seasoning with lemon pepper, garlic powder, some freshly cracked pepper (can't have too much of that), paprika and whatever I have on hand. I use it as a dry rub before baking or BBQ'ing.

When I cook, I use a seasoning called Vegeta. It is AMAZING, you should be able to find it in any Yugo, Turk, or German specialty store.

It is similar to OXO cubes, but in loose powder form. It rocks!

I have to have something spicy on most of the things I eat like, Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper and crushed red pepper (guess you'd say I like pepper of all kinds!)
I too have to have fresh ground pepper and I love ground sea salt on most everything.
I like hot or even mild banana peppers on my salad...YUMMY

Basil or Oregano. Can't use both as the oregano overpowers the basil.

Red Hot Pepper in a shaker.

Ground black pepper or Paprika (which is also a bit peppery)

Chili powder goes in LOADS of things.

Capers go on during the last 5 minutes of the cooking process, and they include salt so I don't add salt very often. They are also great in salads straight from the jar.

Key lime juice from the bottle; sweet and sour all in one!!!

    Garlic or Vidalia Onions

I have a full herbs and spice closet, I'd have to go check what is in there. This is all which came to mind. As Dad is diabetic, we use lots of seasonings to replace the "sugar" and fat he can't have. Been doing this for 6 years now and don't miss that stuff at all any more! I did take a few cooking classes and get some books on herbs and spices at the beginning to learn how to use different ones. And I love to cook and experiement, so that helps also.

Garlic salt, fresh ground pepper, curry, fresh garlic. Trader Joe's Mango Chili Vinegar, soy sauce - the vinegar and soy combo is really good on TJ's chicken Shu Mai (my lunch yesterday). I also use the vinegar on salads and veggies - just the right tang & kick to spice things up.

I use Trader Joe's simmer sauces a lot too - the Thai Green Chili is one of my favorites.

Oh, and Slick, the salt on watermelon is really good. You don't really taste the salt - it's a chemical reaction that brings out the juiciness. Works on other melons too.
