Dog Show Pics Post 7 60+

We will be going to see a dog show this Saturday. The Providence County Kennel Club has a show each year at the high school in my city, East Providence. It is usually held outdoors, so many of the large breeds do not show up. Still, they get a tremendous number of dogs and you can walk around the field and see the set up areas and such. We just walk around for an hour or so. It is much too hot and the action too slow to stay out there in the sun for any length of time. The folks competing have all manner of tents, generators, fans and such.

We've attended twice before, didn't make it last year. I remember they always set up a kiddy wading pool for the dogs to cool off, and there is always a crowd of spectators to watch the antics of the dogs at play.

I can't remember if you can take pets, so I'm not sure if Sugar and Lacey are coming. Still need to find that out.

Here are the entries for this year:

Here is a listing of the dogs attending last year.

It is best to keep all pets at home.
It is written some where in the premum list that there is no room for unentered dogs.

Pets aren't usually allowed at shows and people who bring them are often kicked off of the grounds. I hope you have a good time though!

Yup, we have an affen living the next town over who made it to Westminster two years ago. I think they have several who compete. I don't know the people; just remember seeing it on TV and being stunned! They are cute dogs, little "monkeys!"

Hey Orangutango, pet dogs WERE allowed at this dog show, and there were quite a few in attendance! You just couldn't take them near the show rings. I didn't take my dogs, though, it is just SO hot out on that field!

Here are some ( actually, a LOT) of photos. I added the breed name and then they were automatically sorted in alpha order; don't know if that is good or bad, it just IS.

Although many Affenpinschers were entered, I got there late. The breed judging was over and the dogs had left except for this one; all tuckered out!

Here is an Afghan Hound wearing a cooling suit and snood:

Australian Terrier -- there were quite a few of these present! They come in the blue and tan, or the all tan.

Bichon Frise -- three were entered, but only this one showed up. The trainer / owner was a bit miffed as she needs just one more point for . . . something or other. She couldn't get it unless she took the group as there was no competition at the breed level.

A bichon pup, attending as a pet!

    Border collies

    Borzoi
